Worldpackers is a website that connects travelers with hosts in more than 140 countries around the world and allows you to exchange accommodation (and sometimes food) for work or volunteer help.

How Does Worldpackers Work?

Worldpackers connects travelers with hosts. How? Each member creates a profile listing their skills, knowledge, education, etc. Once your profile is complete, you can apply to various jobs and volunteer opportunities around the world based on your interests. After being accepted, you contact the host to finalize travel details.

Each host sets their own conditions, including whether they offer food, money, or other benefits in addition to accommodation. The host also defines the duration of the volunteer experience.

Step-by-Step Guide to Using Worldpackers:

1. Sign Up
Go to www.worldpackers.com and register using your email or Facebook. You’ll be asked for details like your birth date, nationality, and current city.

2. Choose the Type of Trip
After registering, you’ll be asked what kind of trip you want to take. After selecting your preference(s), click “Find the perfect opportunity” to continue. You can select more than one category.

3. Become a Member
To apply for jobs or volunteering, you need to become a verified member by clicking the “Become a Member” button.

4. Complete Your Profile
After clicking “Become a Member,” go to “Complete Profile.” Your profile has four tabs: languages, skills, photo, and experiences. The more complete your profile is, the easier it will be to get accepted.

5. Choose a Plan
Once your profile is complete, you’ll need to select a membership plan. The two available options are:

• Individual plan ($49/year)

• Couples/friends plan ($59/year)
  The couples/friends plan is ideal if you’re traveling with someone, as it allows both of you to be verified without buying two separate individual plans.
