How to find cheap flights with Skyscanner app

por Postcards from IvI

Some of the most important things when planning a trip is the airline ticket and of course we all want to get the cheapest rate as possible. I always use the Skyscanner app to find the cheapest flights. I love Skyscanner because they have the best deals and the platform is really easy to use. In case you’re wondering how to use Skyscanner app, I will show you some of the amazing features it has.

There’s no need to spend time browsing the web on your laptop to find the best flights. You just need a smartphone to download the Skyscanner app, and you can search for flights anytime and anywhere. You will be instantly notified on your phone if ticket prices drop.

  • Using the Skyscanner App

The app is really simple to use. On the Search tab, you just need to select your departing airport, your destination and choose the date when you are interested in traveling. You can sort the flights by price, duration or by departure time. You can also choose filters such as number of stops, duration and preferred times. You can use Skyscanner to book round-trip, one- way and multi-city flights. You can download the Skyscanner app here.

  • Using the “Everywhere” Search

Now let’s suppose you are not looking for flights to a specific city, you just want to travel anywhere. Skyscanner makes your search really simple with the “Everywhere” feature. You just need to go to the “Explore” section, select “Everywhere”, type your home airport and select the dates. If you are not searching for a specific date, you can simply select Anytime. You will get the cheapest international flights as well as domestic ones. This feature is perfect for people like myself who have so many places on their bucketlist.

Let’s imagine you dream to visit the Eiffel Tower and eat macarons in Paris. Skyscanner will show you the lowest prices for your flight. May is the cheapest month to travel to Paris from New York in case you were wondering.

  • Best deals by month

Another feature I really like is the “Best deals by month” section. You can find it under the Explore tab and it will show you the cheapest flights on the month you select. This is a great feature for people who are looking for inspiration for their next trip. You simply need to select the month in which you can travel and Skyscanner will show the cheapest destinations.

  • Price Alerts

Last but not least.. my favorite feature: Price Alerts. If you’re looking for specific flights, you can simply set up price alerts and get notified every time the price for the flights change.

For example, I’ve always wanted to visit Australia and I know I can travel between June 20 th – July 11 th. So, I select the destination and dates, search for flights and select the bell on the top corner of the screen to create a Price Alert for the flights I’ve just searched. After setting up a Price Alert, you will get a notification on your phone every time the prices change no matter where you are.
