1. Poblet de Nadal, Andorra’s Christmas Market
Every year, the Poblet de Nadal (Christmas Village) is held in Plaça del Poble in Andorra la Vella. It’s a charming market filled with craft stalls, food, and souvenirs, along with Christmas decorations, live shows, and workshops. The market runs from late November to early January. This year, the Poblet de Nadal will take place from November 28th 2026 to January 5th, 2027.
2. Christmas shopping in Andorra la Vella
Andorra is famous for shopping, as some products can be found at better prices than in Spain. If you need to do your Christmas shopping, head to downtown Andorra and stroll along Avinguda Meritxell, the main shopping area. During the holidays, this avenue is beautifully lit up with Christmas lights and decorations.

Every town in Andorra is decorated for the holidays, with festive lights adorning the streets and squares. It’s worth walking along Avinguda Meritxell, as mentioned above, but also exploring the smaller villages throughout the country to see their Christmas charm.
4. Skiing in Andorra

A great option for those who don’t ski but still want to enjoy the mountains in winter is a guided snowshoe walk. This walk caminata in Grandvalira lasts 2 hours and includes a guide, as well as the rental of snowshoes and boots.
5. Visit Caldea, the biggest spa in Europe
A very popular activity in Andorra is visiting Caldea, the largest thermal spa center in Europe. During the winter, tickets tend to sell out quickly, so be sure to book your Caldea entrance in advance.
6. Winter gastronomy
Christmas in Andorra is also about enjoying its delicious mountain cuisine. Some of the typical Andorran dishes you should try include trinxat de muntanya (a hearty cabbage and potato mash with bacon), fondue, raclette, or a comforting escudella — a traditional winter stew made with vegetables, pork, and pasta shells shaped like galets.
7. Explore Andorra’s villages
Beyond skiing or admiring the Christmas decorations, take time to visit Andorra’s picturesque villages. They look even more magical under the snow. Some must-see spots are Ordino, Pal, and Sornàs. You can also visit the Roc del Quer viewpoint, which features a glass-floored platform and is free to access during this time of year.

The best area to stay in Andorra depends on what kind of trip you’re planning.
If you’re going skiing, it’s best to stay near one of the ski lifts. Great options include Hotel Nordic in El Tarter or Hotel Ski Plaza & Wellness in Canillo.
If your main plan is to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere and explore the city, stay in Andorra la Vella or Escaldes. This is the most convenient area, close to restaurants, shops, and Christmas markets. Recommended hotels include the NH Andorra la Vella or Andorra Park Hotel.
