Postcard of the week: Sunset at Long Beach on Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam

Sunset at Long Beach on Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam

We recently spent 5 nights on the gorgeous Long Beach on Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island.  This island is what postcards are made off!  The water is calm, warm and shallow.  The beach has several little basic bungalow type resorts on the beach where you can completely relax.

One of our favourite things to do on Long Beach was to head to one of the beach bars at around 5pm to get a perfect spot on the beach.  Grab a few cocktails and watch the spectacular sunset.

This shot was taken from Rory’s which is a popular spot for watching the sunset.  I loved it here because we could sit close to the water and drink our cocktails whilst our 5-year-old daughter could play in the water and sand.

Phu Quoc is easily accessible from Ho Chi Minh City by a 45 minute flight or by a 3.5 hour ferry from Rach Gia.  It is a very quiet island with not much to do except enjoy its several gorgeous beaches and dine on the beach.

Our family absolutely loved our trip to Phu Quoc and hope to return again in the future.
